Juha Hernesniemi is a Finnish neurosurgeon and professor emeritus of the neurosurgery department in Helsinki.He has a special interest in cerebrovascular diseases that are surgically amenable, especially aneurysms and AVMs. He has published extensively and is widely cited within this particular domain of neurosurgery. Has given numerous LIVE operative courses around the world, Europe, India, PRChina, Russia, Latin America, Mexico, USA, but most importantly in Helsinki more than 30 times, and in LINNC Paris/Helsinki course 5 times. More than 3,000 foreign neurosurgeons have visited Helsinki 1997-2015, actually LIVE microsurgical course was running all the time. More than 100 fellows around the world for periods of 6 months to 4 years. More than 20 domestic neurosurgeons trained.
Lifetime experience in the book “Helsinki Microneurosurgery Basics and Tricks” (Lehecka, Laakso, Hernesniemi) June 2011 published, free available in internet, translated in Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Thai languages.
